Question insurance for a month?

Hi all

well I'm looking to head over to India to join my gf for a month (april-may) and need some advice on insurance. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg but want to be sensible with it.

I've got a few quotes and they are around the $100-$150 mark. Is this reasonable? I assume that I want the one with the lowest excess?

thanks for your help.

World Nomads

A great insurance company to use while travelling ... I have used them 4-5 times now is www.worldnomads.com The good thing is you can tailor it to your needs. Organise your policy online, renew online if you extend your stay and register your claims online.

The head office is based in Sydney, Australia and their policies are underwritten by ... Allianz which is a well known, respected underwriter.

They really tailor their company to travellers, the founders being great travellers as well. They also have a programme called foortprints where a % of your fees goes to community projects around the world, and you get to choose which one.

They quote in all sorts of currencies to suit your needs. One month in Aussie dollars they are quoting $119.

So the range you noted seems to be about right.

Hope this helps.

Use travelcuts, I got 2 months for c$50.

I don't know why you'd pay $110. That's a shitload.

I looked at Travelcuts insurance and it seems you need to ....
Quote:
You must hold a valid Canadian provincial government health insurance plan to be eligible for Bon Voyage
And when you are looking for worldwide travel insurance which childs999 will need for India the rates in Canadian Dollars is as follows ...

Quote:
PREMIUMS FOR PLAN A

Duration Up To Any Worldwide Destination
Excluding USA Including USA*
3 days $39 $40
10 days $45 $55
21 days $61 $71
31 days $81 $97
42 days $98 $131
2 months $131 $174
So a month in India will cost Can$81 which is approx Aus$191!!! So this is much more expensive.
