Hi Guys
Just back from Delhi 2 days ago, had an amazing time....but after being bitten a few times by mosquitos one of the bites has become infected and the skin around the bite is realy red and sore to touch. Has anyone else had this and is it easily treated? thanks ![]() |

mosquito bites
hi,
try not to scratch it much. easily said though. take hot water in a bucket, add some antiseptic ( dettol, savlon ) fluid and soak the infected part for 15-20 minutes. it will give you instant relief from itching and take care of the infection. |

TCP is my favourite.
Luckily you are more than 5,000 miles away from me, so you don't have to worry that the smell makes me go all silly! ![]() And yes, I find it happens quite often. In India, I use Candiderma. I also use Lanacane (bought in UK) as a local anaesthetic; it will feel cool and soothing. Suggest you ask your local pharmacist for his recommendation. If it does not improve within a couple of days, see doctor, as you might need antibiotic, which you'll probably need a prescription for there. The fact that you are no longer in a hot, sweaty climate should help. |

The sooner cleared up the better; if it becomes an ulcer then healing is much more difficult.
I have a horrible spot on my face today: I'm blaming you! ![]() |
