Indians who have been out of the country ....
I was wondering if any Indians, who grew up in India, who haven't been back for 4 or more years, received vaccinations before they went back? My husband (who is Indian) has not been back home in 5 years. I am American going for the first time so I have lots of shots to get. He just developed allergies so I'm thinking his immune system is wearing down. I don't want him to get sick while were there. I know he had to get vaccinations as a child and when he came to America but I have no idea what they were. And good luck getting my husband to remember
! What did you do? |

Many vaccinations must be renewed after five years; ask your MD what is best.
I wouldn't want to bet on any perceived immunity from birth.

Lokie
I grew up in India but came to the US and the first time I went back I got my vaccines updated. I would recommend it as well. http://www.cdc.gov/travel/indianrg.htm has good information on travelers health and recommended vaccines. I retook my measles, tetanus, Hep A vaccines. Also took Jap Enchiplitis, Rabies as well based on where I was going. Seeing a travel MD/Clinic is probably good as well. |
