Indian Hair Products

Can anyone share information about what kinds of hair products are available in India to stop hair loss? What's the best place to find them?

Thanks!

There is an Ayurvedic oil named Anoop marketed by Godrej. Try any pharmacy or even a super-market.

There are alot of Hair loss tonics in India and easy to find. Don't know if it works though ... lots of Indians with thinning hair! I'm not an an expert but think that treatment/prevention should be more of an internal/diet approach rather than a hair application. Diets rich in Vitamin B's and a good variation of Proteins/Amino Acids seem to be the way to keep the mop healthy. Cut the stimulants (caffeine & Alcohol) which deplete your mineral supply and increase nutrition through healthier and greater variation in mineral intake. Stress and heredity also maybe contributing factors. Hope that helps.

If you have not already, please see your doctor first and find out specifically what it is you need to treat. If you are experiencing hair loss you need to be evaluated and diagnosed by a dermatologist, preferably one who specializes in treating hair loss. There are many different kinds of hair loss with very different causes, and some types of hair loss can indicate serious underlying medical conditions. Do not try to self-treat until you know what it is you actually have.

Once you have the diagnosis, it's very difficult to find accurate scientific information about hair loss online. The best online site I've found about it is here. Your dermatologist should be able to give you information, too. Best of luck.

Himalaya Herbals have a preparation for persons with this condition.

Their shops are all over India.

Honest practitioners in most fields seem to agree that there is no effective treatment for age-related hair loss which is genetic.

A friend of mine has some sucess (I can see the difference) with Chinese medicine preparations but they are expensive.

hair loss is, in my opinion, irreversible. --- it really, really does depend on what is causing it.

For most of us blokes, yes, I'm afraid that is true

My husband's family in India eats a few sprouted chickpeas every day...they believe this helps prevent hair loss. Who knows? It's worth a try...
