Fous de l'Inde by Regis Airault

The article link in the OP refers to the book theyamdancer mentions above: Fous de l'Inde by Regis Airault. The author is a French psychiatrist who worked at the French consulate in Bombay helping dazed and confused French travellers. Coincidentally I posted on this book recently on my blog. If you want to know more about the book:

If you read French, I highly recommend it! It's also been translated into Portuguese.

Interesting, jumpingfrog . I only wish I could have understood what the soundtrack was saying on YouTube. completely unintelligible for me, and I can understand French at a basic level when it is spoken. Just seemed to be raving on and on..with many repetitions.

warm houses?

Mental illness - the Israeli Government is well aware of this given the large numbers of post-army youth who flip out in India.

The Israelis look after their own however, and have established what I understand to be called "warm houses" or something similar in various locations around India offering counselling and activities. Anyone know more on this?
