In Rajasthan no need of repellents against mosquitoes

Having checked the weather in Rajasthan,
and particularly the humidity (less than 40%)
I concluded that mosquitoes in Rajasthan in
April are impossible to find...
Am I right?

Your decision.......nobody else's. It only needs one infected bite.

According to 'official' guidelines, you are wrong... They say that there are mosquitoes everywhere in India below a certain altitude (I think it is 2000 feet?).

In a recent thread I wondered if there were any still to be found in the much colder winter days of, eg Delhi. If my memory is correct, the answer was that they may be fewer, but are never completely absent.

I'd be interested to know what your premises were, and what sources you used to come to your conclusion?

Yep it's warm and dry in Rajasthan at this time of year so the mossie problem, is slightly diminished but all they need is a watered garden, an open water tank, or a open sewer. And they can stay alive and breed.!!

So as others have said now it's your choice. Buy repellent when you're there, it works fine! Mosfree if available otherwise Odomos!

Thank you!

Well, in spite of the fact that you
did not give a straightforward answer,
I got the message: "they are waiting for me there too..."
Thank you!

You answered my question very clearly!

Concerning my premises:
I do agree that I do not know much about mosquitoes.
I thought that they needed lots of water to reproduce and
give birth to the thousands necessary to the disturb the
peaceful sleep of humans.
Tomorrow, I'll try to buy some awful molecules to make them change their mind about my blood as a source of energy.

My choice is already made.
Mosfree, Odomos, you name it ...
After reading your quotes my question
belongs to the past ...
I am quite grateful for your concern.
Long live IndiaMike!

They need very little water, and that is one of the problems in controlling them. They can breed in the accumulated water in a discarded tyre or coconut shell. Of course, if there has been no rain for months....

But then, as CH says... the garden might have been watered.

Even a mm or two gap in house water tank is enough to let them in.

Enjoy your repellent
