Importing/exporting medicine

Hey, do you need a special prescription to take medicine (malaria pills ect.) in and out of India? It will only be for ourselves - it is not like we want to sell medicine. But after India we are going onwards to Thailand, Burma, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. So quite a few borders will be crossed.
It will probably be possible to get a prescription in several languages, with official stamps and so on her in Denmark, but what if we buy the malaria pills in Thailand or India - can you then get a prescription that they will accept in border crossings elsewhere?

Buying medicines in India is mostly done without prescription. Last time I brought copies of my prescriptions from home for customs but wasnt asked to show them.

One of the problems with malaria medication is that it is not a one size fits all. Different forms and all that, so it depends on the type that you get to the correct medication. India is well up on the new combination of the Chinese herbal (Qinghao) (Wormwood) plus alopathic combination for dealing with malaria and is in use in many part of Asia. Do a search on the Qinghao to see what you think.
