Ill after India trip
Hey all,
I've been back home for 6 weeks and I've been having some trouble... I have a sharp pain in the right hand side of my stomach and right testicle after I eat and it lasts for hours... I've been to the doctors, had lots of different tests and they've found nothing... 2 weeks ago I had to go to the hospital because the pain was that bad! Any ideas? I have an appointment on Tuesday and I will demand some medication because the pain is very uncomfortable... Also, when I was in Goa I had a similar pain but more intense but it went away after they gave me anti-spasim pills and it wasn't in my testicle. Cheers, Carlos. |

Is this your regular doctor or have you checked in with your Travel and Tropical Medicine clinic to discuss these symptoms? I think that's where I would start - many people become ill or develope symptoms while abroad because A) - they catch a bug or B) - are simply over medicated for their travel - so rule out any of these issues first - by starting at the source for tropical travel.

Appendicitis?
This doesn't explain the testicle pain but if your pain is localised right side only, half way between belly button and top of your legs then it could also be a grumbling appendix. If it worsens and localises in this area then you're sure.

Hopefully your docs have tested you for parasites. Giardia can be suprisingly painful. Good luck and let us know what happens.
