Thank you, that's good news. I have heard various estimates and guesstimates on the cost of shots from $200 - $1,000. Someone suggested calling the county and naturally my county said no

Even if it cost me a wee more than it did you I'll still be within budget

Well, I'm going to India for the first time in october and I can say that I feel as if I've already spent a small fortune on visas and vaccinations alone and I haven't even gone anywhere yet.

Here in the San Francisco area, there's a place called The Travel Doctor (it's actually in Oakland) that does vaccinations. I went there today and paid them $270 for Hep A, Tetanus, Typhoid, and Polio. I was suppose to get the Malaria pills too, but I think they forgot it or something. I'll have to go back for it. Since I'm only there for 2 weeks, they said its not worth getting the JapE becuase of the number of shots and side effects and all that. Just use lots of DEET.

Mecasa try looking at the insurence packet offered by the Lonely Planet on their website very competitive!!
Also your health insurence from your own country is usually only valid if you are on paid leave i.e. still gainfully employed!
Here in holland when you leave your job your health insurence is automatically canceled!! Because of this many travel insurence companies will not cover you if you don't have coverage at home, read the small print this might be the same where you are!! I got burnt three times before this was adequatly explaineds to me. So I had paid for insurence that was usueless, as I didn't have health insurence at home in Holland!!
