hurry up with vaccinations...
I'm leaving Finland for India very soon. Should I take all the vaccinations needed here at home or can I do it in India? I'm going via Delhi to Jaipur countryside
in mid-June. ![]() |

You'd normally want to take them in time for the effect to take hold, your body needs to build up immunity. So, yes, hurry up and get them, see if there's a clinic or doctor specializing in tropical diseases where you're at. What you can't get or finish before you leave you can probably finish in India, enquire with them. For an extended stay in the countryside in June (hot and/or wet and humid) you might want to consider some extra precautions medically speaking. Again, your doctor should be able to inform you.

kyosti.timonen welcome to Indiamike a giant step towards India.
If I were you I would do it in my own country with my own medical services. If you where someplace on route before arriving maybe not but why go through all the hassle of sorting them on your first days in delhi, You'll probably have enough going on in your head then without wanting to sort out your shots. Happy Travelling |

Time delay
we were informed that the vacinations particularly Hep A used to take 6 weeks to have effect but that more recent vacines can be effective in two. ON this basis I would ensure that you have them before you go!

plus side effects
Not to mention that you might have side effects and not want to be traveling with them. My tetanus booster left me with a very sore arm for several days, but I have a low threshold of pain.
