Ok but what do you do when out in the desert on a long camel safari without toilet paper and very little water?

Paper and water, yes. Rock? If nothing better available, I suppose.

But scissors?

Best not to mention that game in a toilet thread!

scissors?????? HOW????????????

How about taking care of not eating much spicy or dysentery-free food? If that is the case you really do not have to wash/wipe it AT ALL! No..... I have never tried going without either of it. Just a possibility!

what about cactus............. plenty available in the desert i suppose......

i was reading thru this thread and other similar ones - one question came to my mind which ......... after having very very hot & spicy food at night and in the morning while downloading your aperture is burning like anything, how can you rub it with paper........ it gets even more painful

is it that kagaz-pochh (paper wiping) people are used to such things !!??

WOW!!! thanks, but i've never "eliminated" using the "squatting position"......hehehehe......i t's funny, having lived in Calcutta all my life, I've always used the so called "european style"......errrr.....potty... ....for lack of a better word. I find that a mug and lots of medicated soap leaves me atleast "feeling" cleaner than toilet paper.

I swear man!!! Spicy ckicken with my beer and next morning i feel like I'm blasting off from cape canaveral!!!

Well, maybe people moisten the paper slightly? Or maybe they actually are used to it? Or maybe continental food just isn't that spicy?

on second thought, you do get these nice soft toilet papers...

to wipe or to splash...that is the question...

I have lived here for a while and it doesn't matter to me whether it is regular poo or burning poo...paper is a must...being all damp down there and just letting everything drip dry just isn't appealing to me

We have one such kind of a hole-chair in our 'activity-room'. Luckily it has only one Indian-style thing so the owner probably wanted the sit than squat so invested into it. But I have never and will never try that for the sheer possibility of one leg slipping into it. Its just does not look stable.

toilet paper - spicy food...... got this SMS sometime back

I would think you would have to wash your hands EXTREMELY well to rid yourself of fecal material, otherwise the rate of hepatitis would be quite high if your hand came into contact with your mouth or food. That's probably a good reason for the eat with your right and wash with your left rule.
