How to deal with monsoon

Namaste, I will be travelling to India in january for 6 month starting with mumbai and then will leave for Nepal. I'm not sure how to plan my itinary (clockwise, anti clouckwise). Any recommendations?

Question North - East - South

If you are planning to Ajanta Ellora, visit them. and then go to South then to East - to Rajasthan - North (Delhi and finally Nepal from Varanasito avoid the rain. But you will be getting rain from June middle in nepal. what are yo going to do it that?

what do you mean?

my 6 month will be over in idia around 21th of july, should I try as middle june to stay moore in rajastan since it's less rainy over there?

It seems to me that it makes little difference if you go clockwise or counterclockwise at that time of year. What I think you might do is start in the south, the monsoon generally moves up from the south. Maybe look up a book called "Chasing the Monsoon" by Alexander Frater. He went to India, as I did this year, specifically FOR the monsoon. In it he gives a very good description of how the monsoon moves through India. I was in Varanasi for six months starting in February and we didn't get any real monsoon weather (rain) til late June/early July, though the heat did start in earnest in April/May; I didn't stop sweating from May til I got on the plane.
