How Much Time Should I Allow for Vaccinations?

I am going to India in January and need to buy my ticket today or tomorrow. This gives me about three months before I leave, and I still need to be vaccinated. Is this enough time to insure that the needed vaccinations take effect by the time I'm there? I know with hep A, I will not be able to get the 2nd dose before I go. Does anyone know if this is a problem? Thanks for any help!

No shellfish for you!

Hey, all kidding aside, just read up on Hep A on the CDC website, and/or ask your doctor/travel clinic how best to keep yourself safe.

Typhoid and some of the others need some time before they kick in as well, just ask how long you've got before you go, same with malaria meds.

Hep B needs 3 shots with the 2nd after a month and the third after 6 months.
