Thumbs up Himalaya Herbals Info

since this topic started out in another thread about backpacks, thought I would make it a separate thread.....

headquartered in Bangalore, http://www.himalayahealthcare.com

if you go to the website, it will give you their locations in India.

US location http://www.himalayausa.com, where you can put in a zip code and see what stores come up in your area (but not always accurate)

great stuff, love their shampoo and foot cream. they also have a product line for animals. (and they don't test on animals....)

I like them too. As well as shampoo and conditioner I regularly use their Muscle and Joint Ointment for aches and pains. They seem to have disapeared from my local supermarket, but there is a franchise nearby that sells all their products.

Is their stuff much more expensive in USA?

of course! I bought some bottles of the shampoo at the store in Mylapore -- 2 for 1 sale, so 2 bottles cost 95 rupees.

just bought my shampoo here from the US distributor....$6 US/bottle (same size bottle), which is 264 rupees......

How does it compare to the Shahnaz Husain products? I brought some of that home last time for christmas gifts for the women folk and they are pleading for more!

I haven't seen these ones :Shahnaz Husain products but am definitely addicted to the Himalayan Herbals stuff. Their Neem face wash is fantastic and all these products have been a godsend for me (alergic to chemical stuff). Though I'm not as fond of the shampoos as the creams etc.

So glad to see you can get them online, I'm sure to run out before I go back.

Shanaz is online too, more pricey though but of extremely high quality! Maybe someone has compared the two ... or has tried some other goodies??

i too must admit my affair with the himalaya products. i got hooked when i first went to india 5 years ago. the ayurvedic doctor that i worked with in india used to (by request) bring me a bunch back when he came to the states to teach.

i got quite a few things when i went this year. but, things are running out so i think that means it is nearly time to go back.

i too love the pain reliever formula - works great. but then, i like most all of their stuff that i've tried. i use the face masks, face creams, face washes, massage oils, foot cream, hair oil, shampoo, almond bar soap (love that!) toothpaste...

lovely stuff it is. i saw they have a line of baby products now too. oh, and a hand santitizer formula that is great for traveling. just keep it with me and can always wash my hands before eating.

I love the Himalaya range of products...

...but we do import them to the UK, so I am biased!

My favourites are the Neem Face Wash and the Dental Creme.

My wife swears by the face toners and creams, and my daughters love the shampoos and conditioners.

My son, a keen sportsman, loves the muscle pain stuff!

Buy them in India - our UK prices are way more expensive!

All the best,

John

That is a big price difference: are their products similarly priced to equivalent US items?

Yes - Himalaya products are priced similarly to "equivalent" products for the Western markets.

It's a shame, but that's the wicked way of the world - charge "what the market will bear" not "make a reasonable profit".

Unfortunately, such is the psychology of shopping, if we charged the Indian MRP of UK 56p (RS.45/-) in the UK for 100g of Puryfying Neem Face Wash nobody would buy it because they would believe it to be too cheap to be any good!

Charge £6.99 (Rs.564/-) and they think it is great!

Hello all, I am reviving this thread to ask you a question.
I am taking Triphala from this company and would like to purchase some more, and would also be interested in buying other products. Does anyone know if there any company selling them online for shipping overseas (in my case, Japan)?

I'm aware of the companies selling them in the US or the UK but I thought to ask for some referrals here as, although I am used to shop online quite a bit, I've never ordered any herbal products so I thought to ask you if anyone is doing it regularly from a trustworthy website.

I've come across this Indian Shopping Plaza and they have good prices (among what I researched) but I got error messages when trying to pay and an email to them yield no reply

Unfortunately I'm not going to India or any place selling them anytime soon. Thanks for any info!
