High Factor Sun Cream In India - Availability/Price?

I assume sun cream is widely available in India, but is it available from factor 30 upwards? And if so, is it cheaper to buy reputable brands once out there?

I know when I've attempted to buy sun block in other countries it's often been very old-looking and out of date, and only factor 8 or something silly.

It'd be great to save time and space in my bag by buying it in India, so any information gratefully received.

I don't see the very high factor stuff, that I used to buy in London for holidays, here in Chennai.

But I'm sure you can get by with what's available here.

However... sunblock is one of the very few things that have ever brought me out in a rash. It is not a bad idea to buy one that you are used to, that your skin is used to, that your nose is used to, isn't too greasy etc....... ANd that probably means bringing it with you.

Sorry, I dont have any good news for you. I would suggest bringing something from home. We went on the assumption that we could find something "high test" for my fair hubby and he got horribly burned even though he applied the Laxme brand every 1.5 hours or so. It wont take up too much space and you probably will have used it all by the time you are ready to go home so you dont have to worry about carrying it home! :-)

Some of the sunscreens here are not all they are made out to be
even the expensive ones - I went a terrible colour of red with a total sun block with little exposure to the sun!
I would buy a trusted brand from home!!
