Heat Rash and some

I started out with a heat rash, which I think started after being burnt alive in a restaurant in Pahar Ganj, even the India that I was with said it was to hot to eat and I used to eat chillies, chillies chillies of all shapes and sizes in NZ and Aust.

So a short time later came out with all these blotches and a major rash. I had it treated when I was living in Shimla with Ayurvedic medicine that worked well.

Last summer living in Pahar Ganj when I was sick, along with everything else I went through this rash came back. I ended up going to hospital and having a jab which i think was an antihistamine hit.

This summer it has been back with a vengeance even though I don't do spice, but don't have a/c either. Had all these pimple like things, the rash and small blisters all over the place. Not nice. Have taken all of the treatments for anti fungal, anti viral and so on and so on. The blistering has stopped and so have the pimple like things but has not gone to prickly heat shards of glass like rash and very rough skin.

I want this thing gone, baas enough. I see many other locals with it, it is contagious obviously but for me it is time to get done with it.

Any clues on what to do. Thanks

Sometimes I get a tiny-pin-prick-size rash. Each spot is hard to see without magnification it is so small.

My cures --- Caladryl, Candiderma.

Unless you rub the chillies on the skin, they should not give you rash --- unless you actually have an allergy.

Mine is like a nettle rash maybe raised by 1 mm. I can touch one part and the whole area reacts.

The cooler my body temp, the better it is sometimes. Was taking some stuff for candida but had little effect. Fourderm was good but after 6 tubes, antifungal and antibiotics I gave up. Went through bottles of that powder stuff they use.

Think this thing is deep rooted in me some how. Oh I just love Delhi.

That might be the golden clue. India/Indians are ripe with foods/diets that cool the body while purifing the blood. I'm not an expert but IM sure somebody can direct you towards an expert in this field.

If you are still in Delhi, why not go and see a doctor?

As you say that you've seen many local people with it, it must be common and surely a local doctor is bound to know what it is and how best to treat it.

I wonder why none of us thought of that earlier!

Yes I will be going to a skin specialist in the next few days.

The thing is that I have been to one and a number of chemists, my landlord is a doctor and he showed me his arm with a similar look and told me that the powder I am using and Fourderm were the best and it would be cleared up in a week or so.

Well wrong, 6 weeks later, they are all wrong. This was similar when I was sick last summer, so many treatments for the same problem and even Fortis hospital did not get it right.

I have a feeling that what I have is shingles as it is raised and now all round my back and abdomen and similar symptoms.

I certainly avoid the spice in foods. As I have a dairy Lactos allergy my intake is very low but will have 3 Lassi each week and avoid everything else. Don't do cucumbers that much, one does get so bored being a vegetarian of some foods.

Maybe my high coffee intake and daily Beckanar Veg Samosa's don't help but honestly the food round my workshop is really desi.

I'm not at all a science-only man, but I have never seen any sense in the idea of "heating" and "cooling" foods.

People tell me that mango is supposed to be heating, but what could be more refreshing?

The very best arbiters of appropriate foods are instinct and appetite!

Shingles does not go round the back.

It a definately one side of the body thing. either the right side of the nerve lines of the body or the left.

So dismiss shingles for the moment, Im not sure what is referred to in India, but dont get it.

As far as I know - "heating" and "cooling" foods are usually distinguished by the ease with which they can be digested. usually heating foods are more difficult to digest than cooling foods. In case of stomach trouble you avoid "heating" foods and have only "cooling" foods.

Mango is very refreshing but I dont think its very easy to digest.

Shingles rash can go on the back; I've had it there.

I'm a bit dubious about medical advice being given online - what it is or isn't etc. Best place to find that out is with a doctor.

Yep, shingles does go on to the back. IIRC- and I am not a doctor- more in the neck region.
