Beconase contains beclomethasone and flixonase contains fluticasone. They are both steroids. If you want to know of all constituents apart from the active agent, check it up on the internet.

Antihistamines must have their place. However, I will say I was taken off them cold Turkey by my doctor who said the long term accumulated damage was worse than the advantage. Clean for 8 years and almost no allergy what so ever. The immune system got its act together without the crutch..

edwardseco, good for you! It's always better to be able to cope without meds.

Well, I took the Cetrizine last night and I didn't feel any vast improvement, maybe very slight at most. So no hay fever after all?

Slept well, but this morning it's pretty bad again ... maybe I try a cold med for comparison ...

I have allergy attacks in India on almost every visit -- and that wouild be in the winter season. Coughing, sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes ... I think this is from some flowering eucalyptus tree, as I also occasionally get these attacks here, when those are in bloom.

Antihistamies help, usually ...

Eucalyptus, interesting!

I'm better today, thank God! Still not sure what it was but I now tend to say common cold.

Well, whatever it was, was good to read all your helpful input!
