GREAT DENTIST-Kerala

Hi All,

Thought i would give a dentist i visited a good 'plug' because it can be a worry going to a dentist in a different country!

I chipped half of my tooth on a train journey and visited "Dr Daniel" in Kochi.

He was fab, funny and very patient!

His details are:

Daniels Specialty Dental Clinic
8/1979- T. Javerimama's Complex, 1st floor Palace Road, Kochi
Email: danielsdental@yahoo.co.in
website: www.danielsdentalclinic.com

cheers,

Tanya (Australia)

Always good to know of a good dentist.

If you need one when you're in Chennai, drop me a PM. I have a good one here and have so far sent him several satisfied IMers

dental tourism

One thing I will be doing on my India trip starting next week, Hooray, is getting two crowns I have put off here. Mainly due to cost. The difference between the USA and India is $400 compaired to $1600. If anyone can recomend a Dentist in Delhi or Calcutta, it would help.

Consider making a trip to Goa. Enjoy the spendour and beauty of the Goan beaches... the 2 crowns would cost you about 200$ out here !

Cheers

You can go to Apollo dental hospitals -they are a bit costlier but safer

Indeed, and I've not starting a dental war I'm sure there are many good dentists in this city. I did consider Apollo but chose the one one my doctor uses and recommended.

I'm currently having my bite changed (the relative position of my jaw) to correct a life-long problem. It also involves having 23 teeth crowned! At the moment my mouth is full of temporary crowns: as the guy has his own lab, they are good-looking, custom made acrylic, rather than the metal caps I've always had as temporaries in UK. I'm not having it done for cosmetic reasons, but improved appearance will be a welcome bonus

I was told I needed to have all this done by a specialist in London, where the cost would have prohibitive. The London guy was very impressed by he idea of having it done in India and wrote a letter giving his recommendations and also details of the implants that he fitted in case they need maintenance here.

I've a feeling I told this story last time the subject came up

Actually I guess I should take one before the next stage! I never thought of a 'before' photo :-(.

You wouldn't see much: my upper front teeth are the London bridge on two implants, but my lowers at the front were badly worn and yellow.

My man describes himself as a "Prosthodontist and Implantologist": I suspect he keeps his own lab busy.

He began the treatment by making a plastic 'guard' to wear over my upper teeth when not eating to open up my jaw. I was amazed how quickly this happened: I thought it would take weeks.
