Going to India in summer... Is it a very crazy idea?

I dunno about the weather, but Mumbai-Jodhpur-Udaipur (or the other way around I presume?)-Kanha is quite a loop in 12 days. What transport are you thinking of? I guess it can be done flying.

I don't know if you're familiar with India, but my usual advice: Try to look up India on a map that shows it on the same scale as your home country. And bear in mind the infrastructure and speed of transport may not be what you're used to.

thanks for the quick response. well we were about to book a short trip via responsibletravel.com that includes a reserve/historic palace so the jodphur-udaipur transport is taken care of. then train from udaipur-bhopal-jabalapur. either flight or train back to mumbai.

yes it is a tight itinerary but it is less that more the heat I was concerned about, admittedly belatedly!

I was first in Bangalore in 2000. I returned again in 2006. It was infinitely worse. Mysore (a little further South), had also suffered, but not to such a degree.

As far as dental work goes, have a look at the "Apollo" group of hospitals http://www.apollohospdelhi.com/our-s...l-surgery.html

They frequently receive good reports on LP forums.

Cheers

Jodhpur could well be up to 45'c in May, Frangipani. Udaipur much the same. If you're travelling by airconditioned vehicle, staying in air conditioning, fine. Not comfortable to be out long in the middle of the day to late afternoons.
