In bbc's web page you can see an interesting article about pollution in the cities compared with rural areas. Among other details we can see how Delhi and Kolkatta are first and third most polluted cities in the world.

Everybody critices USA for its atttude to pollution --- but I don't think anyone in India even thinks about the environment, local or global
