Eczema?

hello-

i'm very excited about my first trip to india beginning next november, and don't have too many worries about adjusting/getting sick/scammed or whatever. my main concern is about my skin. i have moderate to severe problems with eczema and at times have been pretty debilitated with it, requiring oral corticosteroids, getting nasty infections, that sort of thing. i have it mostly under control at the moment, but find that when i sweat, my skin goes crazy. i am unfit because when i exercise, i sweat, and the skin on my face, neck, back, arms etc. stings unbearably.

and i know that i will probably sweat more than a little backpacking around india for 3 months. i don't want to let my skin issues dictate what i do with my life, but am worried how i am going to deal with it over there, and what the effect of the heat and humidity will be on my skin.

anyone have any experience with managing eczema while backpacking around india? would love to get some tips. i will certainly be bringing an array of emolients/topical steroids i use, but anticipate some difficulties and discomfort. would love to minimise that however.

i am a med student as well as having dealt with this chronic condition for some time, so i am pretty clued up on what sort of treatment and alternative therapies are out there.

thanks in advance for your ideas.

In three months I guess you might be covering quite a lot of the country, but it is going to make a difference whewre you are going and when.

eg Chennai, my corner of India is, even on a good day so absurdly humid it is like living in a sauna!
