Mcdonalds in spread pretty well across India. There's no question of traveling in a metro for 2-3 Km's and not stumbling upon one.

Not true of Hyderabad, Kolkata and Chennai (I think).. dunno about places like Ahmedabad.

Hyderabad has a couple of them (2? 3?).. the chain has not been too popular, I think.

Not true of Chennai either, although I think the first has just opened.

I hope to continue not knowing where!

Your right about people in Haiti eating mud, they eat mud biscuits to fend off hunger in the poorer regions. The riots recently were linked to their mud biscuits ($2.50 dollars a bag, i'm led to believe); they had doubled in price, after the recent increase in the cost of rice.

Has anyone in India felt the effect of the increasing cost of rice? I believe they have stop all exports, except basmati.

Aw, this thread has got semi-serious. Thanks IM for the laughs today, and brownie points for this:

I had a friend who ate ice and went deaf and blind, bled from the eyes, had a stroke and died of AIDS ...

And, er...how are they now?

Indeed we are feeling the effect, yes. But, hey! the ice cubes make up for eating less rice.

And before our Captain saheb thinks of it:

Will eating too many ice cubes make you pee in hotel sinks?
