Ikuru... I am surprised you say these things.. When I lived in Sweden, my impression was that 'DRUGS WERE A VERY BIG DEAL' to Swedes. If you mention the word 'drugs' in Sweden, people think there is something awefully wrong with you.

Don't feel bad you asked. As steven_ber stated, such topics should be discussed on the board so that members get a better understanding of the issues.

In some parts of India (as some IMers have stated) the availability and public consumption of drugs will make it seem like its legit.

The others just want to warn of the potential danger if you get caught.

Now, what percentage of the drug users actually get caught? Its probably a very small percentage. You decide.

Jennifer has signed off, and I think just about everything that could be said about the subject has already been said. I know some might like to talk about drugs forever, but it's time to move on and let this thread die.

I sort of knew this allready. I just think its interesting its beeing brought up... Its really a verry interesting topic of its own, but I think people feel its to sensetive to speak about.

Thats Great, thats Logic! Sounds like something UG would say!

Final word on the subject, who knows right from wrong really? Why is alcohol ok and drugs bad? Its all bad. Or is it? Are Laws there to protect? To preserve? To control? Or even to proffit?

Raven, being a smoking Indian college student might be something else than a western tourist and an easy target as noted. You know your way about and all the ins and outs of the scene perhaps.

I don't think even 6 months would go down very well on the average tourist. As has been noted before, think about all those questions about mineral water and malaria and healthy food and tampons and toothpaste and assorted diseases then think again. And read StevenBer's story by all means.

One thing that hasn't been very explicitly mentioned yet, it follows from some of the cautions mentioned before that even as a non-user you could run into trouble for hanging out with certain obvious people or in certain obvious places. Be doubly aware there. And beware of the dealer who turns you in to strike a double deal, good advice there.

thanks for all the input. and insults.
im a bit upset at being called stupid for smoking a few joints.
Don't take it so personally. You asked, you got answered. You didn't ask about smoking joints but about smoking them in India. This thread will most likely be up forever so the answers won't only be read by you but serve a more general purpose too.

Safe travels + take care. Over + out.
