drinking lassi - how does you tummy handles it?

I am a Lassi lover, do you advise drinking it or is it one of those things to avoid such as water from the tap?

try lassi from Varansi/Mughalsarai .......... however don't drink too many as they are very filling

You can drink your lassi from anywhere!

Avoiding the ice is common sense.

Avoiding the intoxicating "special" lassi is perhaps less so. Fine for those who know what to expect and how to handle it, possibly welcome even, but to those who find themselves rolling around their hotel room hallucinating, without knowing why ---well, I'm a long-time-ago hippy, and I wouldn't welcome it.

Seems to be a tipple of certain northern areas; I've never seen or been offered it here in Chennai (maybe I've just been to the wrong places!) --- just fruit or plain? If plain, salt or sweet?

Enjoy your lassi. It's a refreshing way to get a nice dose of those friendly bacteria

The best lassi's I've had have been from Varanasi. In the spring the special Varanasi mangoes become ripe and a slightly sweet lassi made from them is exceptional. Have also had "Special" lassi's in Varanasi . . . an experience (IMHO) not to be missed, though not necessarily repeated.

who drank those damn lassies non stop
the first time she tried one
she mumbled "c'est bon!"
so strong was the "special" she drop (ped)

ok.. bad I know but it was on the spot!!! I'm sure there are more much better ones to come....................

I guess people are talking about Varanasi Lassi, as they have never ventured into local Punjab...which I believe is the birthplace of lassi..
