doxycycline or Paludrine
Our GP here in the UK prescribed paludrine and chloroquine rather than doxycycline for our travels within India.
Can anyone tell me which is more effective and wether doxycycline is easily obtainable in the UK Thanks. |

Both methods are effective against the parasite, do a search here to see some views on the various side effects experienced by people with the different meds!!
Both are available in the UK, whilst only doxy is available in India!! The paludrine and chloroquine combination is unavailable in India(you might find a few leftovers from other travellers in the chemists but don't count on it) |

Doxy is cheap here. The drawback (side effect) is skin sensitivity to the sun, otherwise it has been used long term to treat acne without major side effects.
