Have you seen Jonathan Spollen? Missing in Rishikesh since February 3rd, 2012

Please look at the thread and help find Jonathan. You might have seen him or have some valuable clues.

Check out mydala, crazeal, dealsandyou and other social buying websites. They have tons of coupons for VERY cheap dental checkups/cleaning/filling, which often include discounts of 20-50% on other treatments such as surgical tooth removal.

Oh, and sympathies on the wisdom tooth. I had all four of mine removed 25 years ago and it's still easy to recall the misery (I got a dry socket, ugh.)

Thanks for the reply.

well, yesterday my wife got her wisdom tooth out, it wasn't that painful but she needed to take those injections for two times maybe three, what I want to confirm is that doctor charged Rs.1000/- for taking one tooth out, is it fine or he overcharged us? he is a good doctor but he didn't do any x-ray or like that.

Dek, this would cost a minimum of Rs 15,000 here in the US.

ya, I read on the net it costs a lotttt in there, but you know I am getting angry and my mind is not on peace from the time my colleague told me that it would cost no more than 3 or 400 hundred rupees here. so getting to know how much does it cost in Delhi or other city in north will give an idea.

Is less, but not by a big margin. May be on the higher side if in a small town.

Logic says, one should grumble only till having not spent.

Generally a good dentist charges something between Rs 500 and Rs 750 for extracting a wisdom tooth. It is current trend. Rates also vary from set up to set up, as the investment is too high to start a good set up.

But as the thing is over, now just do some scouting and try to know about some alternatives. It may help in future.

Patiala is a small town, isn't it?

as Narendra & Prakaant said, I think it confirms me that the doctor overcharged us by 600 Rs., okay now I don't need to feel bad about the past.

the dentist didnt overcharge you at all. the wisdom tooth extraction is always more complicated hence extra charges as compared to routine extraction. You have got the right deal as the charges you tell are very reasonable. Dont sweat... you hear different things from different people. As long as the work is done well ... All is Well

Overcharged? What overcharged?

I got mine extracted for 2000 in Mumbai a couple of months ago. Ok I know he overcharged but there were complications.. The tooth was anchored badly and did not come out in one piece. He did say that for a normal extraction he charges a thousand though.
