Exclamation Dengue Fever Warning!!

FYI - I have just returned from 6 week trip in India - an awesome trip indeed.
However the last 2 days I started getting the symptons of Dengue Fever - aching joints, high sweating fever, headaches, rash and follwing my return home I was submitted to hospital with pathetically low white blood cell and platelete count - 4 days spent on a drip. I am out today and feel OK.
Dengue Fever is spread by mosquito and judging from the 4-6 day incubation time (ie. time bitten to time of fever) I would say it must have been in Mumbai or Udaipur, most probably the latter. Udaipur has very little water in the lake but their were mosquitoes at sunset evrywhere.
Cover up with repellent where you can - Dengue can be deadly!!!!

On the road to recovery!!

PS Dengue fever mossies bite DURING THE DAY so a mossie net will not help!! (Unless of course you wear it during the day!? )

Thanks for the warning!! I hope your feeling better soon dengue is not a pleasant experience by all accounts!!
Good advice for everyone get a repellant that works and spray/apply it everwhere I mean everywhere hands up whos been bitten on the bum through the slat in the chair............ see what I'm getting at
And use a net or electric repellant dispenser!!
There isn't a vaccination against Dengue and it can be fatal
