Dengue Fever Warning for Varanasi
Just wanted to warn everyone - there seems to be a Dengue Fever outbreak in Varanasi. So if you're visiting that area, please be careful and use percautions! Apparently Dengue mosquitos bite during the day so don't leave the hotel without repellent on.
I was in Varanasi October 27 - November 3 and have timed my dengue infection back to Varanasi as well. I am now almost fully recovered (rash is starting to go away). I just saw Vaclac's posting from October 31 regarding his wife contracting Dengue there as well. Symptons: - Fever for 4-5 days - Rash after fever has subsided - Headache - Aches & pains - Loss of appetite |
