Demal200 - Malaria Treatment
Hi,
Does anyone have any experience, good or bad, from the use of the Demal200, the homoeopathic 'medicine' for the prevention and treatment of malaria? If it actually works, it seems ideal to me. http://www.giftofafrica.com/consumable/demal200.htm Thanks, I value the opinions of my IndiaMike friend s. |

Never heard of it, and would never try something based on testimonials rather than good science. Malaria is a disease that affects millions of people, mostly in Africa and Asia and kills tens of thousands every year, mostly in Africa. The best minds around the world are studying this disease and testing every possible way to prevent and cure it. They keep coming up with new information and new treatments.
Testimonials are pretty useless as anyone selling anything can find lots of people to say something helped them. It's the mainstay of any quackery and snake oil salesmen. Malaria is way too serious to mess around with. But, that said, everyone does what they please in the end, so it's up to each person to decide the risks they are willing to take, after educating themselves. There are lots of threads about malaria on IndiaMike, just put it in the search box and you will find tons of information. End of rant !I'm totally for anything that will work and there are studies of natural alternatives like Artemisinin that show great promise. |

The comment of based on 'good science' seems a little open to conjecture both for and against. What seems to be more relevant is that modern science has made a tuff job through lack of interest to deal with malaria, things are changing now that malaria is arriving on the European door step so to speak. Anyway from what I understand the Demal200 appears to be extremely successful and Africa is a very good testing ground compared to a lab full of rats and mice.
There seems to be a good balance with Artesunate though the link. |

Very interesting link, thanks! There is no question that this is an ongoing process. Finding something that won't eventually become useless over time like all the previous treatments, is very challenging.
