Delhi Opticians

I'm currently staying in Majnu Ka Tilla and need to get some PRESCRIPTION SUNAGLASSES and possibly some contact lenses. I've brought a copy of my prescription from England so hopefully don't need an eye test. Can anyone recommend a good place? Quick responses much appreciated as I'm not here for too much longer ;-) Cheers all, day 3 in India and loving it !! and hating it of course..;-))

I use:
LensCraft Eyecare, G-3 Marina Arcade, Connaught Place
tel: 23321758, mob: 9871716475
It is a few doors down from the Mercedes dealer, on the second level, above a Pharmacy;enter the pharmacy and take the stairs on the left. There is a big sign outside. Mr Ravi Puri is the optician and he will give you an eye test (no charge) to double check your prescription.

I've used him several times and he's done a total of 9 pairs of glasses over the years, including sunglasses. He is excellent, well-priced and will give you all the time you need to select your frames.

I actually got my new glasses in Manju ka Tilla two months ago : I was on my way to Connaught to find an optician when I saw the ad painted on the wall . The guy doubled as band leader , so there was a sousaphone or whatever hanging on the test chart.

Three hours , 2000 rupees .. including chai. No music.

Cheers guys.....I actually panicked a bit about time and headed for a place called the Optical Palace shortly after posting. Rickshaw driver took me somewhere completely different, but at least it was an opticians so I went with it. Was a little doubtful. Ended up with a superb pair of designer prescription sunglasses for 1650INR. Never had such a good pair of glasses. Seeing clearer than ever. Got a cup of tea as well. Very polite owner and they really know what they're doing. Place is Ahuja Opticals in Kamla Nagar. Told the fella I'd give him a plug on the internet ;-)) Thanks all the same for your suggestions.
