Deet

Is DEET cream, spray or whatever available in India - as it isn't where I live - Bulgaria.

There are a few locally-made mosquito repellants available -- one of the most popular is 'Odomos' which is quite effective and comes in a pleasant-to-use cream and is both inexpensive and widely available. There are others, but I've only used this one -- the active ingredients are listed on the tube as: N, N-Diethyl Benzamide. Don't know how this compares to DEET or if DEET is widely available in India; this stuff works well enough for me, but I haven't really used it in a 'mission critical', real heavy mosquito situation.

Nah don't do it to yourself Rossy!!! Appling Odomos is like smearing lemon flavoured chip fat about your person!!
The "lotion" mosfree is much easier to use and you don't feel like you wore an extra vest when it gets hot!!
There is another one on the market from the makers of the Mozzie zappers Goodknight but the name escapes me at the moment, just check out the chemist when you get to Pahaeganj!!

Check out Mike's odomos link here and have a game of Odo Man while you're there.

thank you all
I'll check the odomos link and then - when in India - will try them all and find which one suits me best.
