Buying doxycycline in Kolkata

Hi all,

We will be in Kolkata for only one day before moving on to other parts of India. We are staying in Sudder St and would lke to know where to buy doxycycline for malaria prophylaxis and expect to get the genuine stuff.

Hi Davlyn:

There are many brands for doxycycline in India, you just need to ask the pharmacist, Malarone being one of them.

I suggest you visit a local physician in your area and check out what kind of malaria is prevalent there, since the northeast is known to have chloroquine-resistant type than the rest of India. Also, there are many banned drugs being sold, so itz better to be careful.

Your choices of generic wud be Atovaquone/proguanil,
doxycycline, mefloquine either alone or in combination.
