bottled water
Are there any particular brands of bottled water that are recommended or best avoided?
I 've heard that some taste crap and others contain chemicals. |

I like Bisleri. I think you hear horror stories about all of them now, makes you wonder if their competitors are the ones circulating the stories... If you're very worried, you can bring and use some Aqua Mira.

Pepsi Aquafina tastes awful. It has a chemical aftertaste.

... there's one called.. Kingfisher I think ? It makes you feel a bit dizzy after a while...
No, seriously, worry not, if it's got a seal it should be OK, but don't expect too much. Most of the brands are "purified water" rather than any idyllic spring water freshly bottled at souce in the mountains ! |

I generally went with Aquafina, Bisleri or Kinley--those are the ones you'll see at most reputable places. I bought an off-brand one once, and it had a bad aftertaste, and after that I refused anything but the top three. An Indian friend told me that good, clean water will taste sweet when chilled, so that was my general rubric.

i stick to aquafina or kinley. FYI, they are owned by pepse and coke respectively. Beware of counterfeits.

My hubby did some research before we arranged for our bottle water delivery. The HT did an article about a year ago where they checked the chemical content of the major bottled waters. (Sorry i don't have a link.
)At the time Bisleri didn't do well in the survey. Ok none of them did great but... We now have Aquafina delivered to the house and haven't had any problems. If it was possible we'd probably have that one with the pink label. (i forget for the moment what its called) But they don't do the big bottles for home delivery. *sigh* |
