Best Mumbai Hospitals
My wife and I need to have some tests done and since a colonoscopy costs a fortune in the U.S. and about 1/10 as much in India, we'd like to have the procedures done while in Mumbai.
I've investigated Jaslok (but am having communication problems with the staff there) and would like recommendations for some other good international hospitals in Mumbai. We could also possibly do the tests in Mysore, Hyderabad, Madurai or Goa, but I figured the best hospitals would be in Mumbai. |

From your list, you will get as good hospitals in Hyderabad. (Apollo has opened one in Goa, dunno how good it is ) And, for the same level of efficiency and whatever, they will be cheaper and more easily accessible.
That said, the well known hospitals in South Mumbai would be Jaslok, Breach Candy Bombay hospital. Dunno if they will do the tests you require. I would contact B Candy first. |

Lilavati Hospital is a good one - located in central Mumbai (Bandra)..hence is closer to the airport.

Thanks for the info; looks like Goa would be a good choice from a logistics standpoint. In general, Apollo seems to have a good reputation and they seem to be popular amongst the medical tourism companies (which has to be one of the biggest scams; they set up the appointments, they book hotel rooms and the patient pays a huge premium for the hand holding).

I would not automatically look at Goa. It is a relatively new hospital far from Panjim, Goa is not a big centre for medical treatment and may not have the best doctors.
Of course, if the test are all that you require, and if they have facilities at Apollo Victor at Margao for those, it may well be good enough. Else, I would look elsewhere. Hyderabad and Mumbai have much wider and better medical facilities. |

I'm also looking into Apollo Hyderabad. The Goa Apollo charges approximately 15% more than Jaslok. Its location isn't bad for those staying at Benaulim, though. Also investigating Vintage Hospital (Panjim) as they have good reports on another thread. And all we need are tests, though I'd certainly prefer an experienced doctor doing that colonoscopy!
