I am bit concerned here about Michelle being on the wrong track if she wants serious recovery from her ailments. Not sure whether Ayurveda is the right thing for her. I would go for Acupuncture in her situation, but only with an experienced acupuncturist doctor from mainland China.
She would be better off with a trip down south from here location, Portland Oregon, to San Francisco where you find real good acupuncturists. Connecting Ayurveda with resorts is a good business venture, but from the healing side it does not go along. Ayurveda requires many months of treatment to get a substantial success, if the practitioner has the right remedies at hand and if they work with a western patient, both of which is more often not the case. |

If you think you can do the delhi experience, and find an unmarked back alley clinic, I know a Person. You would need to see him every two weeks, for best results. This is definetly not a tourist place, it is free, and the best Aruyvedic doctor in the world is there. you see the doctor for maybe thirty seconds, then your sweept away to another room where your herbal formulas are prepare, then bam, your back on the dirt alley. There are hundreds of people there, all trying to see the doctor. Its great fun. PM me if you want "directions"

reply to atla- I was thinking the same thing here. Someone that is very sick. You really need an experienced doctor. Doctors outside the west are not experienced in treating westerns, who, generally are much sicker. Aruyveda, is an excellent healing art, some problems are, ( go ahead attack me) its outdated. The treatments take a very very long time, for one, secondly, a very sick person does not need strong treatment. Panca karma might not be what a very ill person needs. We are dealing with a new breed of sick people. Most doctors are not familair with the treatments necassary. As for going to a Chinese doctor, again, you must be careful, a chinese trained doctor is miles ahead of someone who only studied in traditioanal western schools. But the Shamanic element is missing from TCM. Provocation of spirits is a huge problem with people. Something that is not touched on in TCM. I dont think we should be discussing one or the other, but who, and where.
My advice to Micheelle, dont doctor hop from one doctor to another. If your sick, find a good doctor, stick with them. Probably would not recommend going to India, only to see a doctor. Although for me it was the only option, due to money.... |

That is Dr. Triguna near Nizammudhin Railway station, from what I gather from amarama#s description. Not a bad option. But the thing with it being free should not be mentioned, because they all say that the consultation is free, while you have to pay in full for what they prescribe, and the consultation is useless withóut the prescription. Dr. Triguna's remedies are not very expensive though, since he mostly gives common place products available open ín the market, which astonishes me actually, considering his name and fame. You end up paying around 4-600 Rupees each time. He gives a lot of Aristhas which are fermented liquids, slightly alcoholic. Which is why his treatment is not good for someone who wants to travel (leaking bottles after opening them).
Dr. Triguna is the one who diagnosed Watergate president Richard Nixon's pre-cancerous condition, just from reading his pulse. |
