asthma medication
My boyfriend is wondering whether he needs to take enough of his asthma medication for our trip (6 months) or whether he will be able to get stuff there. He uses Bricanyl and Pulmicort.

Your boyfriend will have to have the generic names of the meds he takes.
I am taking 3 months of my meds with me; if they go missing, I'm sure I will be able to get more, but what a PITA.

For replacements, you'll need not only the generic names but the exact dosage (especially for metered-dose inhalers like Pulmicort), so note those down. Pulmicort is budesonide and Bricanyl is terbutaline.

I recommend carrying your own supply. On my last trip one of the 2 girls I was travelling with had a reaction to one of the Generic inhalers for her Asthma and she ended up in hospital. Its a good thing this happened in Mumbai and not out in the sticks.
