Any Weight Loss/Detox/Cleansing Centers in India?
Hi everyone,
I have been to INYS which is Institute of Naturopathy and Yoga outside Bangalore back a few years ago. I wanted to lose those last few kgs before my wedding.. and I am happy to report that after 22 days, I came out healthier, refreshed and relaxed and lost 10 kgs as well! Now my mom and sister want to go for similiar treatment while on their trip to India. They want to relax, take some naturopathic treatments and try and get on a healthier start. My problem is that INYS does not accept single women under 24 years even if they are accompained by a parent. I guess the rules changed alot since I went in 2001, where I mainly saw 16 year old girls from Mumbai or Dubai trying to shed alot of weight on their holiday. Does anyone know any other weight loss/detoxification centers in India? They dont mind traveling, but I cannot find any websites after doing a google search..Has anyone heard of Ayrucentre in Mysore? Ok thanks in advance for any information..Bye TC! ![]() |

Hey thanks for the link for me. I was looking in that website, they claim "weight loss without diet and exercise"---thats just a dumb claim and nobody can lose weight without diet and exercise. People who think that are just fooling themselves. Anyways thanks for the link again but I hope to find something else more useful. Again if anybody knows any heath farms or weight centers in India..please tell me! THANKS! |

The aspect of not dieting and still loosing weight may just be in the language as in Ayurveda eating the correct foods for you and in the correct manner will help in loosing weight. So is this dieting or doing things properly?

Just a fantasy, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if at least one pharmaceutical company doesn't have at least one person working on discovering a way to limit the amount of fat stored by the body or even to get the body to take that fat out of storage and process it some other way than burning it. Such a discovery would be worth a lot of money.
Extending the fantasy... could it be that one of the worlds traditional medicine systems already can do this? I doubt that this is true of Ayurvedic medicine because if it was true then It would be being sold (and bought!) like crazy. Just imagine: The tropical holiday of your dreams, and, at the end of it, you will be thinner. Now I'll go and look for some gold at the end of a rainbow ![]() |

Well..my family cancelled their trip to India, they are going in cooler October. The my sister will be permitted age wise to enter that Heath farm in Bangalore. I think a good mix of diet and exercise is essential. Sweating is just dehydration not weight loss. Yes you lose weight on the scale, but its just water weight. The best is cardio exercise and weight training..even for girls..Weight training has shown to increase metabolism hence you see bodybuilders eating more but having 0 body fat. Their bodies are always burning it.

Dieting simply DOES NOT work in the long run. A balanced diet and excercise is the only way to lose weight and keep it off. Don't waste your money or time with any detox crap. I can guarantee you that you will gain all the weight back in 12-18 months and soon depression will set in when you cannot get it off. Constant dieting also speeds up the ageing process and in a few years you will start to notice it.
>> One company in the USA sold some weight loss pill which said it would burn fat, lose weight etc., supposedly from herbal origin(chinese?).<< Ma Huang, Ephedra..there are loads or these. Ephedra was banned as it speeds up the metabolism and causes heart attacks and/or hypertension. I have used ephedra (Hydroxycut) while in Iraq and it gives you a jolt of energy which is a great help to soldiers. However if taken in excess and used incorrectly you can die. There are other Ephedra alternatives on the market these days that go by other names. IMO the absolute best way to lose weight is through excercise. Bill

Try Vandana Luthra's Centre for health, called in short at VLCC. They have several locations in major metros in India.
