although im very aware of showing respect for the indian culture in that females in particular need to cover up their arms and legs as much as possible and which i will adhere to fully i was wondering as a sun lover am i going to find any oppurtunities to practice my most relaxing past time which is to catch the odd hour here or there in being able to strip off to beachwear
and lay in the sun at my own leisure. can anyone recommend where i may be able to indulge in this without causing any offense to any locals or attract any offense to myself . |

depends on which part of the country you are planning this visit.
If u are this side then i would recommend Diu. . It is a little paradise here these days. Lovely seas and lots of sun and quiet and laid back. |

Sun bathe, inland. No way, Maam. Wrong country. May be in a star hotel by the pool.

As you mention Rajasthan........I had a short dekho at Lily's (forum member) hotel, 'Jas Vilas' at Jaipur. And they had this nice sized pool with lots of private lawn area where one could lounge in the sun...definately perfect for what you might have in mind.
The hotel also seems a very nice place and in a quieter and cleaner(less dusty) part of jaipur..and worth checking out. lily and her husband, being from Rajasthan should be able to provide more tips.... Rajasthan does have a fair number of good hotels offering a pretty good standard of service and ambience. |
