Doxy

Sorry to extend an already long thread but here goes... i have some doxycycline tablets left in my backpack but they won't last me long when i get to india; can i buy doxy there? or should i just switch to that chlory stuff you're all talking about when the doxy runs out?
also local doctors in India, are they just walk in ones like everywhere else or are they hard to find appointment types?
there a really handy malaria information section for anywhere in the world on the scottish NHS page bizzarely enough http://www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk/.

Hi ,we took doctors advise in goa .He also stated that there was no malaria in Goa , I have my doubts?? .His advise on malaria i believe was much better. Most drugs have some sort of side affect,so you have to stike a balance whitch suits you .His advise was choroquine(250 mg.Standerd tabs) two tabs once a week.Obtainable at any pharmasist in india and very cheap.Had no problem at all with this regime. And of couse try not to get bitten .You will have to be very unlucky to contract Malaria, but it is better to take precautions.

Yole
I think the pills are dangerous if you keep taking them for several years, but I don't think this will be the case...
