Zainabad Help!
I've been trying (without success
) to contact Desert Coursers in Zainabad by email (zainabad@hotmail.com). Can anyone come up with a phone number or alternate email address? Thanks! |

Many thanks. Do you happen to know if they are still open and functioning. I haven't had much luck contacting them.
I see that you're heading for Gujarat soon. Any specific recommendations? I've been trying to get some specific local intelligence on the Vautha Fair, with no success... |

Hello, I have seen your post on Vautha Fair, I am like you, I wait for some information because I rent a car the 1/11/2009 to go there. It's the only day I could be there...

Didindia7 - Good luck. I assume you are renting your car in Ahmedabad. We are taking (I hope!) The Gujarat Shatabhi on 2/11 and hope to arrange for a driver to meet us in either Anand Junction or Nadiad Junction. That seems closer to Vautha.
Have you ever been there before? Does this sound like a reasonable plan? We are planning on going to Zainabad after visiting Vautha. |

Yes, I rent the car from Ahmedabad airport. I didn't go to Vautha fair before this year.
I went to Zainabad on my first trip to India in ...1991. So it will be a pleasure to meet them again from 9 to 12 november. Quote:

Didindia7 - So you have been to this area before. What will you be doing between Vautha and Zainabad? Do you have any recommendations for the area?

didindia - do you mean about Vautha? Apparently, the donkey trading will be over but some sort of festivities should be continuing.

Looked at this thread, went there and stayed over the weekend. (Looong drive from Mumbai)
Outstanding property and people and food. The cell phone number mentioned above is the owner Dhanraj Malik's number and it works. Will post photos once I finish the travelog |

zainabad is a great experience. Wilderness and rural. It would be very good this year because of good rains in previous months. Visit the Modhera sun temple enroute from Ahmedabad. Early morning is good.
