Vautha Fair

I'm trying to get some information about the Vautha Fair, which is scheduled this year to end on Nov. 3, 2009.

I cannot leave Mumbai before the morning of Nov. 2, so if I take a train I can get in to Ahmedabad Junction on the Gujarat Shatabdi Express at about 1:30pm, then need to get to Vautha. That means I will pretty much miss all but the last day. Would it be worth it for basically a day and a half?

Then there's the question of accommodations. Does it much have to be Ahmedabad for something aircon?
