Travel option in Gujarath?
Hi,
I am planning for Gujarath tour in mid Jan 2009. My Plan for 4 nights, 5 days. Ahmedabad, Modhera Sun temple, Rajkot (night1), Dwarka (night2), Porbandar, Somnath, SasanGir(night3), Palitana(night4), Ahmedabad. Is it better to take Tavera for the entire journey from Ahmedabad? Or any other luxury car: Ford Fiesta? Can I get good cars from Rajkot, in case I travel in train b/w Ahmedabad-Rajkot ? Can I travel in Tavera inside SasanGir forest also? |

Hi CT,
Welcome to IM If you want to complete the whole journey frm a'bad itself.. it would make sense to hire the car from a'bad.. Is it better to take Tavera for the entire journey from Ahmedabad? Or any other luxury car: Ford Fiesta? Tavera is a good option. Spacious etc. Rates might be diff. Better check. Can I get good cars from Rajkot, in case I travel in train b/w Ahmedabad-Rajkot ? Yes you can get good cars from Rajkot. Though, doesnt make sense not hiring from a'bad. A'bad - Rajkot is 220kms. 3 Hrs Max. Can I travel in Tavera inside SasanGir forest also? i "think" you can.. not sure though. check the other threads about sasan gir for more info. Hope that helps...

Thanks Jay,
I enquired in JN Rao travels and they gave me a quote for 19000 Rs for this itenary. I think that's too expensive. Does Tavera cost 10Rs/km in Gujarat? In Bangalore it's 7-8 Rs/km. |

hi CT,
Well dont go by that 10/11 rs query which you must have got from someone.I enquired from 10 different places and rates of tavera/qualis seems to be rs 7/7.5 per kms. If more charges are levied by someone than they are earning big bucks from you. ![]() |

You can speak to Mr. Naimesh Shah - 98254 73822. He has a taxi business in A'bad.
Give him my ref - Jay Jadeja and your requirements and he'll give you a good enough quote. |

Also, if you're not really interested in taking a taxi, you can always catch a train from Abu Road station. Have listed out a few places that you could visit in your other thread. |
