Can anyone inform me the best route to be taken for driving from Baroda to Diu.

baroda to vasad, to borsad to bagodara to dhanduka to vallabj\hipur to Bhavnagar (take the byepass) to mahuva (take the bypass) to Una to diu...about 500km and 8 hours driving time.

We are a group of Mumbai based friends and relatives,planning a 10-12 days holiday at Gujarat.We intend to cover
Ahmedabad-Lakhotaa-Bhavnagar-Diu-Veraval-Somnath-Sasan Gir-
Jamnagar-Dwaraka

Few questions:

1)If we plan the tour in a reverse manner,i.e.we reach Jamnagar first.Is it worthwhile(sensible)to allow one full day for an up-and-down drive to cover Dwarka or it is advisable to have a one nigtht stay at Dwaraka?
2)Many members recommend Resort Hoka Nagoa Beach-Diu.Where can I have its proper address(including PIN no.?).Also,wud like to know

What would be the distance and approx. drive time for a Mini-Bus[say 19-Seater]?

If you go to Mahuva, go to beach and Bhavani temple on the beach. A pure, clean and deserted beach if I ever so one.

Hello sakhlkarin,
1. Look up www.resorthoka.com for more details about us and how to reach Diu.
2. If you are starting your Gujarat section of the journey from Ahmedabad than you could consider going to Jamnagar, then onto Dwarka..Somnath..Sasan gir..Diu. I would think that it would be better to stay the nite in dwaraka rather than Jamnagar.
3. Do you have a specific reason to visit Jamnagar? Otherwise you could skip it as there are other worth while places to visit. I am not sure if there is anything worth the while there really, apart from a dusty crowded town. The time being close to monsoons, even the sea and reefs would not be a worthwhile visit.
4. A minibus would take the same time as a comfortably driven taxi..about 4 hours from Bhavnagar. And about 8 - 9 hours from Ahmedabad.
5. Keep a nite for most places and may be 2 or more for places like Diu. Sasan gir might be a little hot and so a day and nite might suffice. Palitana which is close to Bhavnagar would be a good idea to visit.
6. What/where is Lakhota?
7. Ahmedabad to Bhavnagar = 4+ hours by mini bus.;
