Patan and Modhera

hi how does one reach patan and modhera frm mehsana?
Are there any taxis available in that region and how much should they cost??
is there any accomodation available in modhera ?
Does anyone know abt taranga and how far is it frm mehsana?

Hi,

Modhera is about 30 kms frm Mehsana. You'll find state transport buses / private (shared )jeeps going there ( though you might have to wait a bit).

Patan is about 50-60 kms from Mehsana and again you'll find buses / jeeps.

The deluxe state transport buses are quite nice and comfortable.

Dont really know much about Taranga Hills.

Just did a trip.

You get buses from Patan to Modhera. 2 routes exist. via Mehsana and via Chanasama. Take the latter.
Regular buses ply between Mehsana and Modhera.

Do also visit Becharji Devi temple which is a holy shrine, one of the three shakti seats. Only 16 kms from Modhera Sun temple.

How long does it take to get from Modhera to Patan? Is it difficult to get on the bus - need to book it earlier?

It shouldn't take more than an hour and half, there are buses on the route,you just need to get into one,no prebooking required.

I want to visit Madhera Sun temle--patan rani-ki-dav- from Mahessena(by car) & than go to Ganghinagar Akhardham temple & Sabarmati ashram in Ambebadad by a car..is it possibe to cover all those places in a day...staring our journey from Mahessena in the morning(will reache there at 8am from delhi)

I really dont know about the akshardham closing timings, but you can assume spending 6-8 hours in patan and modhera and getting to ahmedabad (or maybe a little less).

can you pl suggest me any decent budgeted hotel near railway station at Mahessena.any idea regarding cab charge for Madhera-Patan tour from Mahessena....?

I had stayed at a place near the highway,pretty unremarkable,but the town has many places to stay.
And I had paid 1400 for the whole trip,but that was 4 years back. I think the standard rates should apply here. It is a good idea to do patan,modhera,siddhpur(the vohrawads) in a day.
