Mumbai to Gujarat

I have a very old guidebook and it doesn't say which train station in Mumbai I will need to go to Gujarat (Varodra).

Also, is it quite difficult to get a train ticket to Gujarat? I will only be able to buy mine 24 hours in advance.

There are several trains departing from Mumbai Central which pass through Vadodara on their way to further destinations. These include:

2903 Golden Temple Mail
2955 BCT JP Express
9023 FZR Janata Express

You may well experience problems obtaining tickets at such short notice, but it might be worth enquiring about the tourist quota.
It is also advisable to check on the current flood situation in Gujurat. When I passed through Vadodara and Surat two weeks ago much of the area was under high and rising water, and numerous trains have either been cancelled, severely delayed or had their routes truncated.

The best train is the Vadodara Express. It ends at Vadodara, and you can sleep the whole night in air conditioned comfort.

Starts Mumbai Central at 23:25 and arrives Vadodara at 05:45 am the next morning. Mostly ppl traveling to Vadodara take this train.
