Help again, pls
Hi,
can someone give me information on hotels in Mahesana, Gujarat? There's nothing about it in LP guide and I want to use it as a base for daily trips to Mothera and Patan.

Hi Rossy!
It could be a spelling problem! Mahesana is also known as Mehsana. I have never stayed there but there are about four places to stay, listed in my Footprint guide as follows, in order of price, most expensive first. Water World Resort 25 minutes drive out of town. A/C cottages, modern, Mughal garden with a/c "royal tents", vegetarian restaurant, wine shop (??), wave pool and sports complex, artificial lake. $150-$30 Vijay Guest House National Highway 8,near bus stop onleft going north. Good clean rooms with bath, some a/c, quieter at rear, friendly staff but no English spoken. (750- 200 rupees) Apsara Janta Supermarket, opposite bus station, reasonable rooms, some a/c, thali meals. (400-200 rupees) Natraj 1 km from bus stand. 12 rooms ranging from basic dorm to comfortable a/c with bath, very good veg restaurant. (750-200 rupees) At this time of year you won't be needing an air conditioned room so you would be towards the bottom end of these prices. My guidebook is a couple of years old so allow for price rises. The hotels near the bus station could be noisy but on the other hand convenient for transport. Enjoy your visit! |

Mehsana!
Hi Alan,
thank you very much for the help. It's easier to visit both Patan and Mothera from Mehsana (!) - I'll check this new version in LP guide when I go back to the hotel - I hope it has Mehsana though the guide mentions Mahesana twice - both times in connection with travel to these two places. However, even if it hasn't got anything on Mehsana I've got your information and it's more than enough I'll probably chose the one nearest to the bus stand as this will make things easier for me.Thank you once again + best wishes ![]() |
