gujarati pronunciation
Hello all, my name is Mike and I'm a student of Gujarati. I was wondering if someone could help me out with pronouncing Gujarati. I have my own language podcast here:
http://readingproficiency.mypodcast....4_archive.html I have made a recording in Gujarati however no native Gujarati speakers have checked my recording for accuracy. Can anyone help out here? Also, I have a couple of Gujarati sentences that I translated, if someone could help there also that would be great! ![]() thanks, mike |

A native Gujarati speaker!!
Wow I'm surprised! I didn't think there were any Gujarati speakers here since I never received any type of response but I guess there are some or at least one. Do you have Skype? I would love to voice chat with you there and go over Gujarati pronunciation. Please let me know what you think. Thanks! |

Ok, we can voicechat via Yahoo messenger then although I'm not sure how well the voicechat service works there. It's worth a try anyhow. What is your YM ID and what is a good time to chat there with you? I was going to send you a private message on here but there is no PM system here on indiamike.com. Very strange.
Mod note : The PM system will get activated once you have a post count of more than 10. Last edited by nayan : Jul 2nd, 2009 at 03:13. |

Hello all,
My name is Ashley. I too am learning, or trying that is, to learn Gujarati. However I know very very little. I am starting with basic conversational phraises; hello, how are you, that stuff. I am not really taking corses or anything of the sort for I am a student and can't aford such things, so I have had to use online resources which are hard to come by. When I found this board I was looking up ronounciation of Gujarati words. I was hoping that somebody on here wouldn't mind connecting with me and helping me learn a little. I can communicate in just about every way, so let me know how best to contact you. Thank you, Ashley |

Commendable, I must say!
![]() Here it is in English. The underlined a is to be pronounced as in a thing. The double letters mean emphasis. T is always pronounced as in Quotro. Tried my best "Criket premiyo jay-knee chellaa ketlaac samaythi aatoortaapoorvak raah joy rahya hataa. Tay Indian Premier League knee bee-ji season no shaniwaar thi praa-rambh thaee rah - yo che. Cape Town khaa - tay aavti kaalay pra-rambh-ic match ma Sachin Tendulkar knee moolaa-qaat un-nay Mahendra Singh Dhoni Chennai Super Kings vachay t(as in 'to')akkar thaa-shay. Best of Luck! ![]() |
