Duronto Train Schedule announced for Gujarat
Ahmedabad-Mumbai-Ahmedabad 'Duronto' at 11.45 pm
AHMEDABAD: Mamatadi’s first ‘Duronto’ — the non-stop trains between two destinations — for Gujarat, is ready for launch by October end or early November. This train between Ahmedabad and Mumbai will compress the journey to six hours and promises to be a dream ride for business travellers. The fully air-conditioned train will leave Ahmedabad at 11.45 pm and reach Mumbai in 6 hours and 15 minutes. So it will reach Mumbai at 6 am and the traveller can finish work and board the corresponding ‘Duronto’ back to Ahmedabad the following night. Duronto, which is a Bengali word for ‘fast’ will take 50 minutes lesser time than Shatabdi, which is a day-train plying daily and Mumbai Express. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/N...ow/4943190.cms |

Had a good "Tadoba" trip

Nice to hear this news, but let's see how long it is going.
Politicle pressure will add stations, earlier Karnavati planned to halt at Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Vapi and Borivli but later on Nadidad, Anand, Valasad added and 30 mintues delay is now normal for this train. Instead of 11:45 in night it should run early morning around 3.30 and should reach mumbai at office time (9-10 AM). Anyway thank you Mamata to think about inida's one of most busyest train route. Interesting, could this sound the death knell for Shatabdi's running on identical routes? I can't imagine Shatabdi's fares being cheaper than the 'Durontos'.
If I was a traveller, I would much rather spend the night sleeping than sit for 8 hours each way. On the timings, I must say Mamta has got this one right. |

Hi lilboy,
I am agree with you even I would prefer night journey, but there are lot of peoples who still prefered Day journey e-specially aged. And business of Shatabdi will not hit because you there are lot of travellers traveling between Mumbai and Ahmedabad ![]() Regards Rushi |
