Dui-Mumbai. Is it possible by boat?

Anyone know if it were possible to get from Dui to Mumbai, (or anywhere really) by boat? havent been able to find any information anywhere on this so guessing its not an official route, but do private boats travel this route that we could ask around for and pay our way on? There are four of us. anyone done anything like this?

Try to search this site a little more, it's often been discussed.

To my best knowledge there is currently no ferry service from Diu to Mumbai, and probably not to anywhere else (well there appears to be a short ferry hop to the mainland ). Nor from anywhere near it; the old catamaran services didn't leave from Diu I think. Which doesn't guarantee anything, it's just the last I heard of it.

I wouldn't bet on your chances finding a private passage, but hey one can ask around.

No, no boat to anywhere from Diu.

I suggest an early morning taxi to Palitana (5 hours) then enjoy the day at Palitana and get the following train: -

Train 2972 departs Sihor (code SOJN) daily at 21:06 and gets to Bandra Terminus station (Mumbai)(code BDTS) at 10:30.

2 tier air con = Rs 1153
3 tier air con = Rs 820
Sleeper Class = Rs 311 (not air con)

Sihor station is about 22Kms from Palitana.

Palitana - Photos - Information.

This question was one of the first I asked on indiamike.com, I eventually telephoned the Diu tourist office from London and had a great conversation.....
