Ahmedabad doesn't seem to be a good place for your Valentine Day dinner:

VHP's women wing is goind to "descend" on the city to boikott the Valentine Day. They will even make a bonfire of Valentine Day's cards! But they "would not disclose" their "strategy".

The holiday Inn ahmedabad closed down and the same property is run by the 'Le Meredian' (yes that international chain...). Its a swank fancy place.
However their restaurant and food is way below standartd. Just 100 metres down the road is a 5-star hotel called 'The Cama' . I believe its run by some professional group too. Their 24 hr coffee shop and restaurant 'Silver leaf' is excellent and the prices surprisingly low (i mean the restaurant..not rooms). The cama is to me the more attractive of the 2. There r some other pretty good hotels on the same road and ones called the rivierra or something. Then there r a few near the airport one is of the taj group.......
